I TOTALLY AGREE! And I was super upset to find out instead of Chinese (or even ANY type of East Asian) actors for the Fire Nation, we get some people who don't even remotely look the part. Not being racist or anything of the sort, but I like for my actors to LOOK the part as described by the original source. So I totally agree.

I just pray it turns out WAY better than DragonBall Evolution.

ugh, i'm half against the movie, half for it. i haven't watched Avatar in forever, mostly because the cable company around here sucks....but I miss Aang...he was funny. I'm for it because i wanna see what happened in the end...but against because they're doing a live action version. Avatar was originally aired in japan, right? or do i make yet another mistake this morning.... but it seems that all the good japanese animes (Death Note is one of these) are being reproduced in america by horrible people who've never seen it, never read it, etc, and need to take a chill pill and figure it out.

though, the trailer i saw on a news show was pretty epic. ^^ Aang's face wasn't seen very well, though....just the big ol' blue arrow.

I'm still not sure what my overall thoughts are on the movie (I think Sokka and Zuko look OK, and Katara _might_ work sorta?), but this made me giggle immensely.

Avatar is produced by Nickelodeon, and was written, designed and directed by two Americans. The first movie is about the first season. If you want to know the ending of the series I strongly suggest to rent/buy/watch the 3 series, because the movie people will probably butcher the story as well as the visuals.

That's hollywood for ya. If this is what they did to the main cast I dread to see what they're going to do to the suporting characters. Like Bumi and Iroh. ...The more I think about what kind of movie this is going to turn out to be the more I want to cry ;_;

And sokka/Zuko both look so OLD not like 16 but closer to the actors ages (20ish) and Katara so young ><
