I wanted to do something with magpies, they're always around my university and I really like them: their huge tailfeathers, long legs and beautiful blue-ish black colour. I also like the way they move.
I had a vague idea with autumn and red in mind, and this came out.
It's weird.
It's a little bit vector-like, but also very rough like an oil painting or something. There are so many details that i would usually work for months on, but now i couldn't help but to leave it un-polished and fast the way it was.
I KNOW the eyes are strange and unfixed, the mouth is weird and there's something wrong with the nose, but i like it this way. Trust me, i've tried about 20 different faces, good decent anime-faces, experimental faces, everything, and this works best.
Completely done in Photoshop 7, tablet, about 4 days on and off.
A move away from anime in some ways, yes? I mean, I'm no anime expert, I just look for big eyes and wholesome faces... I wouldn't have called it anime at first.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
