Artist's Comments

A painting i had in my head for a very very long time.

Pencil sketch, direct digital paint on top of that, messy, sketchy, painty, i could spend an extra 5 hours on every single detail but i choose not to. It's about the colours and the idea, not photographic details. Inspired by [link] who i admire enourmously. Brilliant with colour. Go visit now!!!

Capricorn's monastery = comination of japanese and Lhasa architecture.
Reference for the mountains = my own pictures!! it's true!
Perspective = my own imagination. I draw the laws of physics the way i like it mwuahaha
Person in the back = anonymous monk with two horns

Photoshop, only one layer, couple of days on and off.
Took me half a day to upload because my laptop hates me and keeps jamming EVERY 4 seconds. All this waiting is exhausting. By now i hate the damn pic and am not gonna work on it for a good 2 years. And the laptop goes out of the window. *goes off to find food and shower*

Capricorn © me, c&c welcome but please read this description first. I know about the perspective...

Look to the sky and dream, for it is the dreamer who drives the world beyond the impossible.

Simply gorgeous, my dear. You are so out of this world.

Well that was a lovely double whammy. Not only do have this gorgeous feast of colour and light waiting for me in my devwatch list, you alos give me a link to a fabulous artist, whose influence on your own style is clear, but nowhere near the line of simple rip off.. more like elements of the sketchy style which you take with your own flair. And the chain goes on, for on her website, there are more lovely links to fantastic artists. Good day all round then!

It was a confusion of ideas between him and one of the lions he was hunting that had caused Spottsworth to make the obituary column. He thought the lion was dead, and the lion thought it wasn't.--- P. G. Wodehouse

Great atmospheric perspective, especially with such an unusual and limited palette. It definitely has a mood attached to it, and the linework is really good for directing the focus of the viewer. Nicely done.

yes i know, she has her links devided in usa, eu and jp and there are many great unknown artists between. I was very very happy when i discoverd him/her. I try to get my own colour-imagination going by getting inspired by his/her gallery, but i'll never get that spontanous brilliant totally original mad colourcombinations that he/she comes up with... Glad to have added to your day! ;)
